NSW STATE MINI TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NSW Mini Trotting Championships are conducted every year at Easter time. With over 80 races conducted over the weekend, no one misses out on the excitement.

FUN DAY
All ponies which raced on day one will be timed and the fastest time recorded will be used to provide the handicap mark on “fun day”. Only ponies which raced on day one day one will be permitted to compete on fun day. All registered children can drive in the Fun Day even if they didn’t race in the Championship as long as their horse competed in the Championship day.

WARATAH CLASSIC (a group two event)
1. After "Fun Day" nominations have closed, (at the same time as Championship noms), the draw can be made and sent out with the Championship draw to all competitors. The actual handicap marks will not be known until after day one racing when times are recorded.

2. Each pony will contest two heats... (Points scored the same as for the Championship) Finals will then be run (all finalists to receive trophy). Also consolations. The fields for the consolations to be limited to 6 runners grouped on similar times. Then the 3 unplaced runners stay on the track and race off. At this point, all ponies will have a trophy on the day. All ponies will have raced at least 3 times on fun day.

3. The organising club can then conduct any events they like and could include some of the following;

1. Sit and sprint races.
2. Mobile start races.
3. Champion of champions (the 3 division winners).
4. Races for any drivers which have not won a race (due to more than one driver for the one pony).
5. Parents races (Check with NSWMTA secretary at the time for latest ruling).
6. Ex Drivers races ... ditto.
7. Any other type of races.

HANDICAPPING FORMULA

1. List (in alphabetical order) all ponies with their respective times in metres per second. (Use the fastest time recorded).
2. For each race, list the slowest pony as number one on front ie.600 or 800.
3. Divide metres per second © of horse number one only into 600 or 800 to give the “Base” time.
4. Multiply (D) base time by © metres per second for each runner to give their respective handicap mark (E).

1 Runner.To deliver times to recorder in office
4 Stewards
2 Official Recorder (on computer) 1 Assistant. (To write up progressive points on notice board.)
2 Gatekeepers to sell raffle tickets.
3 Starters
4 Marshall’s
21 Total staff requirement

STAFFING ... DAY TWO.
1 Announcer
3 Judges Assistant. To give out trophies.
Clerical assistant. To record results and deliver to official recorder. To compile results etc.
1 Steward
2 Official recorders (on Computer)
2 Gatekeepers
3 Starters
4 Marshall’s
2 Bookies
2 cashiers.
